What is behavioral targeting?

Behavioral targeting based on collected data about users’ behavior in the internet — browsing history, search queries, app usage, online purchases and so on. All this data is stored in the user’s browser and used to set up behavioral targeting based on a predictive analysis of the user’s behavior. Using behavior targeting, brands can show ads related to the needs and interests of a particular user.

In order to make it clear, let’s give an example. Let’s imagine that users are often visitors of car-related websites. Behavioral targeting may show them an ad for a car-sharing app or a new model of cars.
